Lily - 10 Years!

So hard to believe my Little Goose is 10 Years Old!  She's such a diva, with an attitude that puts up with nothing.  While it's challenging as a parent, it'll serve her well one day.  She's authoritative with a sweet side.  It's hard to explain other than describing her as a natural leader.

At 10, Lily:
-weighs 64.4 lbs (21%)
-is 53" tall (24%)
-loves the color yellow
-wants to be an inventor when she grows up
-got her braces (phase 1) off right after she turned 10
-tolerates her sister, but you can tell she loves her deep down
-idolizes her brothers and loves when they give her attention
-loves to play basketball and soccer

Lily, you're the apple of your Daddy's eye and your moma's pride an joy.  I hope you always stay just who you are now!

Lily - 9 Years!

Lily, my little Goose, is 9!  One more year and we'll be entering the double digits! Lily, you're a girl with a lot of emotions.  You're sweet and then sour at the drop of a hat.  But, that sour side doesn't last long.  All we have to do is give you a little hug or kiss and you go back to your sweet self.  You are a girl who's always known exactly what you wanted and you're just stubborn enough to get it!

At 9, Lily:
-weighs 56.8 lb (21%)
-is 4'8.8" tall (21%)
-finally bumped up to a Youth Medium in clothes
-will start soccer this year, but still loves to play basketball
-is in 3rd Grade and doing great
-got her first set of braces this year
-loves the color pink
-wears tennis shoes every day to school because she can run in those and she can't if she wears boots or flip flops
-still loves love
-talks all the time about her future...but her plans on what she intends to be change often

Lily, you're my little firecracker.  I love you so much, but you're not afraid to tell me you're a Daddy's girl.

Lily - 8 Years!

Lily Girl,
You are 8 years old!  Such an achievement that you've been counting down the days to!  You're full of life and love and spunk.  I know that one day, you're going to be running a company, or at the very least, your household, with ease and grace.  You give your Daddy and me a run for our money with your sassiness.  You love as hard as you fight and I wouldn't have you any other way!

At 8 years old:
-you weigh 46.8 lb (28%)
-you are 46.75" tall (24%)
-you love the color pink
-got your first set of braces
-you want to be an engineer/teacher/builder when you grow up

Lily - 7 Years!

Oh my..how did we even get to this point?  Seems like yesterday that I was holding you for the first time.  Now, you're 7!  One more year in the car seat as you like to remind me.  6 more years until you can have your own room.  (You remind me of that one more often) I'm not sure what you'll do if Landon ends up going to college close by...you'll be stuck sharing a room with Hattie until you move out!  At 7, you:

-weigh 46.8 lb (28%)
-are 46.75" tall (24%)
-still wear a size 6 clothes and a 13 shoe...you've stayed at those sizes for over a year now
-still choose pink as your favorite color
-are freakishly strong (you're a beast on the monkey bars and have been since about 3 years old)
-want to be an artist when you grow up
-have a ton of best friends..everyone is your best friend according to you
-love your tumbling class...you've moved from level one to level two in 3 months
-love to play any sports we'll let you play (so far it's been soccer, baseball, and basketball)
-are so tenderhearted!  You pretend that you have a stone exterior, but it doesn't take much to hurt your feelings.  I have to try to keep that in mind when you cry over any little thing
-love your scratchy blanket.  You still sleep with it every night
-can play all day by yourself..you still talk to your imaginary friends and you're not afraid to tell me that
-are a great sister..you love your brothers and sisters hard!
-are very opinionated when it comes to what you wear and how your hair is fixed
-love to read..you will read a chapter book in two days if it's one you like

Lily, you're my little Goose and I can't imagine our family without you in it.  You're one that definitely keeps me on my toes.  You're a definite Daddy's girl and I don't see that changing anytime soon.  I love you so much sweet girl.

Lily - 6 Years!

My first little girl, my little Goose, is 6 years old!  Seems like just yesterday she was born and our whole world changed.  She's a mix of sassy, sweet, and every other emotion you can name.  She loves her little sister and brothers one minute and fights with them the next minute.  I love that she has to have a kiss and hug every.time.you.leave.  She's categorized as a "leader" in her class and I think that will serve her well as she grows.  At 6, Lily:

-is 44.5" tall (30%)
-weighs 43.2 lb (37%)
-has lost one tooth - on Christmas Day
-is in kindergarten (Mrs. Hart's class)
-loves the transitional seating in class - the high table is her favorite
-loves everything craft-related.  In fact, all her presents from her friends on her birthday were crafts of some sort.  It's safe to say they know her well!
-loves pink - her favorite color
-wants to be a Police Officer when she grows up
-played her second recreational sport this year - t-ball and is now enrolled in Acro
-started counting down until her next birthday as soon as this birthday was over
-learned to swim this past summer
-is involved with Adventure Guides with her Daddy (she loves the Daddy/daughter events)
-loves walking club at school and semi-likes running club
-still talks about her friends from her old daycares and wonders if they remember her
-is still a Daddy's girl, but loves to do girly things with me such as pedicures
-calls the Prius, the Caprius - I love it!

Lily loves to cuddle still and is quick to hold your hand.  She's a very affectionate little girl and if we can get control of the emotional outbursts, we may just make it with our little diva! I love her to pieces and she's the double-stuff cream in our oreo of a family.

Lily - 5 Years!

My Goose is 5 years old!  How did this happen?  It's so hard to believe that the round face little girl in my pictures is the same spunky little girl that I have now?  At 5 years old, Lily:

-weighs 38.8 lbs (43%)
-is 41.75" tall (34%)

She's so excited about going to kindergarten next year..especially since she'll be at school with her Daddy!  She's definitely a Daddy's girl!  She absolutely loves her brothers and sister..almost too much.  She's constantly kissing and hugging all three of them.  She's a girly-girl, but loves to get outside and get dirty with the boys.  She played soccer for the first time this past fall and she's in her second year of ballet/tap.  I love this little girl with all my heart and I can't wait to see what the future holds for her.

Lily - 4 Years!

Well, my little Goose is four years old.  It's so hard to believe that she just has 1.5 years until she's in kindergarten.  She's always been so grown acting, but lately, it's like she's growing up right before my eyes.  At four, Lily:

-doesn't really like to be called Goose anymore..well Goose is okay, but Lily Goose is not
-definitely has an opinion on what she wears daily (if she's worn it once, it's old) and how she wears her hair (only in a braid or ponytail)
-weighs 34.2 lbs (50%)
-is 39.25" tall (50%)
-has a BMI of 50%
-still will talk in her sleep.  This can really freak you out because most of the time, her eyes are wide open and she makes complete sense with what she's saying
-is quick to boss her brothers around, but she has a soft spot for Hattie and will usually give Hattie her way with everything
-wears size 4T/4 clothes and size 10 shoes
-sleeps from about 8:30 pm - 6:30/7:00 am.  She will take a nap, but doesn't really like to
-her favorite color is pink
-loves ballet, coloring and anything Frozen
-even though her birthday was less than a week ago, she's already asking how many more days until her next one!

I love this little girl more than I ever thought possible.  She's sassy, rambunctious, and kind-hearted..all rolled into one little ball of fun.

Lily - 3 Years

Our little Goose recently turned 3.  Seems like just yesterday, we were welcoming her into our lives.  One thing is for sure, we haven't been the same since! I wanted a girl so badly, and a girly-girl is what I got!  I can't tell you all the ways that she is diva-licious. I really don't know where she gets it frorm!

At 3, Lily:
-is 30.3 lbs (50%)
-is 36" tall (50%)
-wears 3T clothes, size 9 shoes
-is fully potty-trained, morning and night, for about 6 months now
-fights like cats and dogs with Nixon..those two are oil/water! But, they also love each other deeply
-knows just what to say to get what she wants from anyone in the family
-has been an awesome big sister to Hattie..I was so worried and it seems like she's transitioned better than anyone
-still talks to Cat & Mouse, her imaginary friends
-loves a baby doll..she really can't have enough
-loves to have her fingernails and toenails painted..she can't stand to see them chipped..she'll say, "They don't look pretty, they're messed up"
-still loves to eat "Monkey Arms"...aka Lucky Charms
-will call the boys by their full name when she's mad at them..such a little momma!

Lily Goose, we love you more than you could imagine..you bring just the right amount of girly-girl into our world and I can't imagine our family without you!!

Mouse

Lily is the first of our kids to have an imaginary friend.  It took us a little while to realize who she was talking to because she's always been one to ramble on to herself under her breath.  One day, Chris realized she kept saying Mouse when she talked and she was telling him to do things. I am a little worried because a lot of the time, she's being bossy and saying things that I know she hears us say to her or the boys.  She'll say, "Mouse, you better listen to me or you'll get in time out" and things like that.  She also seems to work through some of her fears with Mouse.  I'll hear her saying, "Mouse, are you scared of the fireworks?  I'm not, are you?"  It's the sweetest thing and I have been able to get a few pictures of her playing with Mouse.

Teaching Mouse how to use the stapler

"Do what I do Mouse" (jumping as far as you can)

She wanted a picture of her and Mouse.."He's right here beside me Momma"

First Haircut!

Today, Lily had her very first haircut!  I was a little nervous because her moods are so unpredictable (I dread the teenage years!), but she did so good.  My good friend, Nikki, did it.  She acted a little nervous to start off with, but it was nothing a sucker didn't take care of.  She sat there patiently while Nikki trimmed up the ends all over, straightening up the back especially.  Before we knew it, she was all done.

Before:

During:

After:
Nikki put a little braid in the side

Not really much of a difference, but her ends look a lot better and it'll hopefully grow a little better now.  Also, the back is finally all one length and it doesn't look so scraggly.  I'm so glad that one of my good friends could share in one of Lily's first with me!

Lily - 18 Months

I can't believe my baby girl is 18 months already.  We went for her well check today and she's moving right on target with her measurements as follows:  weight - 23 lb, 9.6 oz (65%), length - 32.5" (70%) and head circumference - 46 cm (40%).  I also found out that all those shrieks and screams she does constantly are signs of social development in girls.  If that's the case, my girl is going to be a social butterfly!

At 18 months, Lily:

  • Still sleeps around 11 hours at night.  She goes to sleep around 7:15 every night
  • She has started being able to eat on her own finally without me or Chris freaking out :)
  • She says the words Moma, Dada, Landon, Nixon, Lily, Night-Night, Bye, Love You, Thank you, Grammy, Papa, Nana, Poppy, More, Milk, and just about anything else you tell her to say.  She will get lazy though and the words start sounding the same
  • She chases her brothers around and terrorizes them just as much as they do her
  • Loves her "babies" more than ever.  She knows what drawer they're in and will pull them out once she figures out that I've put them up.  She never has less than four or five in her crib at night!
  • Will throw a temper tantrum at the drop of a hat if she doesn't get her way!
  • Has learned how to make all kinds of faces..fish face, kissy face, etc and it's the cutest thing ever!

Lily's "Babies"

When Landon was born, he wasn't really attached to anything.  He could take or leave the paci and he had no stuffed animals or blankets that he had to carry around.  He did have "Mr. Puppy" when he turned one and he was a little attached to that when he slept, but not during the day.

Nixon, on the other hand, still carries around a stuffed animal everywhere he goes.  He really doesn't have a favorite, but rather a variety that he chooses from every morning to take to school for that day's nap.  Even as a baby, he had a taggie blanket that he would chew on constantly.  One day at daycare, it got misplaced and for the three days that they looked for it, he didn't sleep a wink at night or during the day.

Lily has taken on the characteristics of Nixon.  She has a little doggie, "Dougie" that she has become attached to along with a taggie blanket in her crib.  This past weekend when she was sick, she had to have both with her constantly.  Now, not only does she want to sleep with those, she has found her drawer full of baby blankets and has dragged them out one-by-one every night this week.  She will not go to bed without every blanket she sees in her room.  Take a look:

That's not 1, not 2 but 5 "babies" (Nixon's term for any blanket or sleep animal).  Is that not the cutest thing you've ever seen??

Lily - 15 Months

Can't believe my baby girl is 15 months already!  She's quite the handful these days..who knew girls were so much different than boys!  The boys are non-stop, but she's non-stop AND emotional!  At her well check, she was 21 lb, 14.5 oz (60%), 30.5 inches long (50%) and her head is 45.4 cm (45%).

Lily:
*Loves to run..especially if you're chasing her
*Loves to wrestle with the boys..she's always tackling Nixon from behind when he least expects it
*Loves to read books..she has one little book that she carries around everywhere
*Loves to swing..she has discovered her swing on the swing set and as soon as we walk in the door in the afternoon, she points outside
*Can say Dada, Mama, Bye, milk and Dougie (her baby's name)
*Can sign Please, More, Eat and drink
*Will finally give kisses on command..she used to turn her head every time you tried to steal a kiss..now she actually will give them to you
*Has to use Detangler Spray after baths on her hair because it's gotten so long..most days it has a little curl to it which I really love..not sure if that will last though
*Has learned how to climb up on the table and will do so at the drop of a hat

*Loves to help with the laundry..she will push the clothes into the washer and if I drop any on the floor, she will pick them up for me
*Finally got her first pair of Crocs..Hot Pink no less and they're the cutest things ever!

She is definitely a hand full but we love every minute!

Lily - 5 Months!

I'm Back!!  I know it's been a while, but it's been crazy around the Walters' Household...with no hopes of things slowing down at least for a few more weeks..Lily is now 5 months and she weighs around 15 lbs.

Here are a few things about her right now:

-She still eats her 6 oz every three hours during the day, but she has added 3 containers of Stage 2 baby food a day..What can I say..girl takes after her moma..she loves to eat!

-She is definitely rolling all around the living room..you have to watch what you lay down around her now because she'll roll right over to it.

-She likes to watch you talk and she'll move her mouth, without making any sounds, in the same motions..it's the funniest thing because she gets this really serious face while she's doing it

-She likes to "sing" herself to sleep..it's so sweet..she'll just murmur those sweet baby sounds until she's fast asleep.  She also wakes up "singing" and will sometimes sing herself right back to sleep on Saturdays and Sundays!

-She loves her "baby" so I guess she's going to be just like the boys with all the animals/blankets/pillows in the bed

-She's becoming more of a Daddy's girl..she gets the biggest grin on her face when she sees her Daddy first thing in the morning.

-When I pick her up in the afternoons, she likes to lean right towards my face and give a big open-mouth kiss..and of course I eat it up!  Then, she snuggles my neck until we get out to the car and I put her in her seat..Love it!

She's a really good baby..but becoming a bit of a Princess already..she definitely knows what she wants and knows how to get it..even at daycare!

- She especially loves her feet..she sucks on her big toe every chance she gets!

Lily

Lillian Ruth
Little Sister to Landon & Nixon
Apple of my Eye
I waited so long to have a little girl just like you!
You've been spoiled rotten from Day 1..
I don't think you ever stood a chance.
Your Daddy is already wrapped around your little finger.
You know just what to do to get your way..
With two big brothers, you're as tough as nails...
But also as sweet as sugar (especially when you want something).
My Little Lily Goose, Pumpkin Pie, Chunky Monk, I love you to pieces,
And I can't imagine our family without you in it.
You added a missing piece that seems to complete us.
I love you to the moon and back!

Lily - 12 Months!!

I know..I know..it's been a while again.  I love to blog, I really do, but I just can't seem to get into a groove!  Onto to the subject at hand..can you believe this little bundle of joy...

is now twelve months old...and looking all grown like this...

She's such a sweet girl, but definitely all girl..with the temper tantrums and attitude to boot!

At 12 Months, Lily:

-Weighs 19 lb, 5 oz. (25%); she moved down in her percentile for weight, but Dr. Garrish didn't seem concerned
-Is 29" long (50%)
-Has a head circumference of 44.5 cm (50%)
-Will walk a few steps, but chooses not to on most days
-Will eat any and everything you give her, until you make her stop eating
-Loves to play patty-cake
-Loves her "babies" and "Dougie" when she is sleepy
-Has two little boyfriends at school that she loves to play with...Noah and Lathan
-Loves to aggravate her brothers, especially Nixon, but she loves to chase Landon
-Hates to wear shoes..she didn't wear them until she was 11 months old!
-Still only has four teeth..and so far not a biter like her brothers were..fingers crossed!
-I have to say that she's pretty spoiled, but it's not entirely my fault..she's spoiled by her Daddy, brothers, Grandparents and even the teachers at school
-She hates to wear hair bows and will yank them off of her head while giving me the stink eye

Lily - 9 Months

It's so hard for me to believe that my baby girl is 9 months old already!  When I took her for her appointment, she weighed 18 lb, 10 ounces, is 28 inches long and her head is 17 inches big.  I don't know any of the percentiles because the computers were down..you don't realize how much people rely on computers, the appointment was crazy because the doctors and nurses were trying to get all the information (questionnaires on milestones, etc) by memory whereas normally they just do it all by computer.

At 9 Months, Lily:
-Crawls like crazy..she thinks it's so funny to crawl away from you when you chase her
-Pulls up on everything, she actually let go and just stood up for the first time on September 21
-Still only has two teeth
-Has climbed up the stairs in our house (1/2 way up before Landon ratted her out)
-Is eating baby food 50% of the time and table food 50% of the time
-Still will not give kisses if she doesn't want to.  She'll turn her head..she completely knows what she's doing when she does it too
-Has started drinking from a sippy cup a little..she still seems to prefer her bottle and will not hold either one if she doesn't want to...what a little PRINCESS!
-Her hair is curling up on the ends

Pierced Ears!!

On Friday, I took Lily to the pediatrician to have her ears pierced.  When she was first born, I decided I wouldn't have it done until she was old enough to tell me she wanted them.  But then, something came over me and I just had to have them done.  If the doctor's office didn't do them, I never would have done it until she was older.  But, a RN pierced them for us.  She was so meticulous.  I know she marked Lily's ears a couple hundred times before she was happy with the location.  She was so careful to get them just right and I think she looks just precious!  You decide...

A Letter to Lily

My sweet little pumpkin Lily,

I waited a long time for a little girl, and Lily, you were well worth the wait.  You've had my heart since Day 1.  I know you'll be a spoiled little princess one day because you already are!

I love that you're so serious one second and laughing the next.  Your eyes and face show exactly what you're thinking at all times.

I love that when I pick you up from daycare, your eyes light up and you smile as big as you can.  I love that, in the small walk from your class room to Nixon's, you snuggle so close to my neck like you want to get that little bit of time with just momma.  I love that when you get really tired, you just stare at me.  It's like you don't want to go to sleep because you'll miss something we might be doing.

I love that when I wake you up in the morning, you wake up smiling.  I love that you are already a diva at the young age of six months; and when I put your hairbows and headbands in your hair you look at me like you're saying, "Really Mom?"

I love that you love your baby as much as your older brother Nixon loves his.

I love that you laugh uncontrollably at Landon when he makes silly faces at you.  I love that you're a momma's girl more than a daddy's girl (for now anyway).  And I love that you dance just like Landon used to when he was a baby.  I love you more than you will ever know little pudding!

Love,
Mom
